Every major holiday has a spirit, mythological figure, or other magical entity associated with it. Someone responsible for the holiday itself, empowered by all those who believe in it, celebrate it, and enjoy it each year.
And sometimes these mythical beings need a little help — or may want to retire from their position completely. In either case, mere mortal humans have a chance to be transformed into a new holiday spirit themselves.
